I used to work for an oldies band. Fair season was always a challenge. The singer got quite a few bugs down over the years.

Happened one time to an older Judy Garland in the middle of a song. She spit it out and kept singing without missing a beat. There are “pros” and then there are “pro’s pros”.

In The Story of the Trapp Family Singers, Maria von Trapp tells in their early days of touring the US singing she felt something was missing--they weren't quite connecting with their audiences. One night during the show she swallowed a fly and then told the people what had happened. That "broke the ice" and afterwards they felt a greater rapport with the audience.
