This is a characteristic of true psychopaths, that they start very early, within the limits of their stage of development. They have been studied forever, and no significant environmental or learning explanation has ever surfaced.

The finding of a possible brain defect is actually encouraging, as it may offer some hope for eventually developing effective treatment. At this point, treatment is futile.

So, is there an early treatment? Or just recognition of the potential condition?

Interesting that you say that....I just read “Without Conscience” and it stated that ALL psychopaths had traumatic early childhoods-—had insecure and worse “attachment”.

Now, what WAS unusual was that not ALL children who have traumatic childhoods will become psychopaths.

It is learned behavior unless there is brain damage or other neurological abnormality in childhood.

TV can also be a model for behavior and some early childhoods are filled with very disturbing images that will form that child’s worldview of people and society.
