Heisman Projection: 141 ballots (so far)
Stiff Arm Trophy ^ | December 6, 2011 | Kari Chisholm

In this second update, we're up to 141 ballots - with 359 first-second-third votes on those ballots.

For the tenth year in a row, we're going to attempt to project the outcome of the greatest individual award in sports, the Heisman Trophy. We've been right nine out of nine years.

If this source (which has been right since 2002) is correct, it appears that Baylor QB Robert Griffin III will win this year's Heisman Trophy. As of this posting, here are the standings:
R. Griffin (Baylor) 85.3%
A. Luck (Stanford) 40.8%
T. Richardson (Alabama) 25.6%
M. Ball (Wisconsin) 15.3%
T. Mathieu (LSU) 11.9%
An article in the sports section of the Dallas Morning News indicates that Griffin is likely to walk away the trophy. There may be some Texas bias in that analysis of course.

Still, in my opinion, no one has done more on an individual basis for his team this year than BU's RG3.

Wrote earlier that I thought Trent Richardson would get it but that Griffin sure earned it as well. Very talented guy. Watched him beat the Sooners and Texas. Two great games. Would be great if he won it. Luck still has a shot but thought he lost it when the Ducks beat them. As far as Mathieu, great for a fellow Tiger to be nominated, but... Thanks for the info.

I think what hurts Honey Badger is that he's surrounded by sheer greatness on an exceptional team. Miles has put together a remarkable machine, all the pieces work together in harmony. So a cog in the works, regardless of how outstanding, doesn't stand out.

RG3 has single-handedly engineered so many remarkable moments that are probably more memorable in the minds of the Heisman voters. This will be an interesting one to watch on Saturday since I don't think it's a fait accompli and thus there's an element of surprise awaiting us.

If I had a vote, it would go to Griffin. He really was outstanding against Oklahoma. Texas as well. Too bad I didn’t follow him earlier, but I was giving all my attention to the Tigers.

I’m looking forward to my man Geno Smith being up there next year. He kind of flew under the radar this year. He put up 3978 and 25 TDs this year, and next year he’ll be in the Big XII instead of the lowly Big East.

Robert Griffin III is an all-around outstanding student athlete and would be an excellent choice for the
Heisman.

I agree with RG3, but ESPN wants Luck. We will have to see who wins.

Woohoo! Go RG 3, finally Baylor has something to crow about, that and having the #1 Baylor women’s basketball team, and a very good Baylor men’s basketball team, it’s about time! Watch Baylor and RG3 in the Alamo Dome after Christmas. Really, you couldn’t find a nicer team player than RG3 for the Heisman, he deserves recognition.

If Robert Griffin III wins the Heisman Trophy, it will be great to watch the liberals (Lou Holtz being an exception) at ESPN react.

Baylor is a (1) private, (2) Christian (Southern Baptist) school. As if that weren't enough to be anathema for the ESPN/Disney leftists, the president is none other than (3) Ken Starr, a fine Christian who was involved with the investigation of commie Clinton.

RG3 winning would be the trifecta (pun intended) of three elements most despised by libtards.

You articulated my earlier comment very well. Thank you!

I am so sick of ESPN and their blatant bias.

Go RG3! I have a BIL and a niece that graduated from Baylor.
