WMBF News Sports Director Jason Belk confirmed with a source close to the university's program earlier Tuesday morning that Joe Moglia, former coach of the United Football League's Omaha Nighthawks, will take over for David Bennett. Moglia has experience with college football, working as a defensive coordinator at Dartmouth College from 1981 to 1983.
In 1983, Moglia went to work for Merrill Lynch for 17 years and then became the chief executive officers at Ameritrade Holding Corp in 2001.
He then stepped down as CEO, moving to a voluntary assistant coach position for the University of Nebraska's football program and then became the Nighthawks coach in 2011.

Please help me. I live in SEC Country and I am a pretty big Football Fan, but I can’t for the life of me figure out what the name of the University/College with the initials “CCU”. Are they a Divison 1 School? If not, who cares who their coach its?
The very notion of giving scholarships for athletes is corrupt. “We’ll sacrifice our academic standards to gain prominence among would-be donors.”
If this hire were strictly about getting cash from Moglia, how is that any different than decision to compete in the NCAA in the first place? No school that offers scholarships to athletes can long remain Christian. Just ask Duke, the original Big East basketball teams, TCU, Notre Dame, SMU, Rice,...

Hmmm... (be nice Dave, it’s almost Christmas) CCU is Coastal Carolina University, Myrtle Beach SC. Big South Conference. Div 1 NCAA. CCU played Georgia this year in Georgia in football. Same conference as Appalachia State. They beat Michigan a couple of years ago? Remember? Google is your friend.
It turns out that Penn State has a couple of openings on it's football coaching staff!
Conceptually it was part of the whole Greek “sound mind sound body” thing. Then sports got profitable, that screwed up everytyhing.
So why shouldn't a businessman be able to coach??
It’s Coastal Carolina University out of Myrtle Beach, SC. They were a branch of the University of South Carolina but several years ago became independent of USC. They are not Div. 1, I’m not sure which division they are in. BTW, GO COCKS!!!
OOps, should have added NOT SURE if they are in Div 1!!
Is Slippery Rock on their schedule?
Coastal Carolina is D-1 in the Football Championship Series
(FCS) which is the old NCAA 1-AA.
I guess money talks, and CCU needs the money for its sports
programs, as insignificant as they are.
