The “artic whale sanctuary” that the Aussies claim the Japanese are poaching on is bogus. It is only recognised by United Kingdom, New Zealand, France and Norway.
That is why no matter how much the Aussies screech, you won’t see any Aussie effort to interdict Japanese whaling ships.
My guess is that these 3 boarders will be in for a very long, uncomfortable voyage, and will wind up in Japan.

That would particularly seem bad as aren't the Japanese operating just off of the ANTARCTIC <<<< considerably south of the ARCTIC I think...
