I have my dogs pretty well trained to stay off the ice. Its one of my greatest fears living on the lake.
So sad to hear him howling in pain/distress like that. It looks like they brought him back to life though. Labs are such nice dogs.
My screen is all blurry....THIS needs a Kleenex alert!
Beautiful video!!
The fact that he wasn’t shivering was a bad sign, because it meant his body temp was below the point where you shiver.
At the end he started shivering/quivering. I’m hoping he was all right. Not sure how to find out.
Extra hugs for all my pets tonight.
the doggie is ok!!! I researched and it was in TheresA, NY:

Charlie, a Yellow Lab was rescued from the Indian River in Theresa, New York two years ago, his rescue video went viral over the weekend. Charlie fell through the ice and could not get out, a man heard the dogs cries and called the fire department to rescue the dog. Charlie was treated in an ambulance for hypothermia, spent the night at a local vet and made a full recovery

THIS HAPPENED TWO YEARS AGO.
I noticed that, that was a good sign. Luckily the dog was too weak to be scared and swim away from the rescuers.
Wow—good research. I was thinking it happened recently—no wonder I couldn’t find a news account. Thanks for letting us know.
I wonder why it’s just going viral now? Maybe just took it hitting the right website before people started noticing it.
Doggie ping!
