It takes real guts to shoot yourself in the gut.
But this man seems relatively unfazed by his decision to shoot himself in the stomach at point-blank range - just to test out his bulletproof vest.
Luckily, it worked - though it looks like it hurt a lot, as he is immediately doubled up in pain.

Back in the 1970’s as I recall a couple of guys wanted to demonstrate the flak jacket to Houston Oiler quarterback Dan Pastorini....similar demonstration...I think they used a baseball bat (one wore while the other one swung)...Dan just watched.
They made the sale though.
Forrest Gump’s mom was right.
I think I would have bought myself a dummy, before I tried to be the dummy.
In the late 80’s in Washington D.C. a couple gang bangers decided to test out their body armor. They got mad at each other after the initial exchange of gunfire and ended up shooting each other in places the armor didn’t cover.
ALWAYS ASSUME THE GUN IS LOADED!!!
That’s how they train the Spetsnaz..they shoot them so they won’t be in shock in real battle conditions once they get hit. There’s another video on Youtube where one guy was selling his variation of the BP vest and shoots himself with a magnum to show the buyers it’s safe..
It might take guts, but it doesn’t take a lot of brains.
“It might take guts, but it doesnt take a lot of brains.”
LOL. Exactly what I was going to say, except for one thing, instead of “a lot” it was a lack of brains. This is what unintelligent idiots do and then post it on youtube for free. Those with smarts sell the video.
Saw a vid of a newsperson in Atlanta taking a shot from a 22 with a vest. It stopped the bullet and he cursed on air. The cops doing the demo had a good laugh
His shirt said “Vikings son”. Must have been one of them Berzerkers.
I heard of a couple of guys testing a vest, but they used a knife, the vest wearer died.
“Hold my beer”...
I think Chuck Taylor tried a similar “real world test” of body armour when he was the editor of S.W.A.T. magazine in the late eighties.
Then there was that guy from “Second-Chance” body armor back in the 80’s that would go around to law enforcement agencies, stuff a few newspapers and/or magazines under the vest he was wearing, ask for one of the agency’s duty guns and then shoot himself in the vest to demo the product to the cops. I want to say he was listed in Guiness as the man with the most gunshots or something like that.
