Romney clarifies his position on Blunt amendment By PHILIP ELLIOTT | Associated Press 10 hrs ago Email 6
WASHINGTON (AP) Presidential candidate Mitt Romney said Wednesday he opposed Senate Republicans' effort that critics say would limit insurance coverage of birth control, then reversed himself quickly in a second interview saying he misunderstood the question. Romney told Ohio News Network during an interview that he opposed a measure by Sen. Roy Blunt, R-Mo., that was scheduled for a vote Thursday. "I'm not for the bill," Romney said before urging the interviewer to move on. Romney later said he didn't understand the question. "Of course I support the Blunt amendment. I thought he was talking about some state law that prevented people from getting contraception so I was simply misunderstood the question and of course I support the Blunt amendment," Romney later told Howie Carr's radio program in Boston, noting that Blunt is his campaign's point man in the Senate. Just hours earlier, ONN reporter Jim Heath asked Romney about rival Rick Santorum and the cultural debate happening in the campaign and the legislation proposed by Blunt and co-sponsored by Sen. Marco Rubio, R-Fla. "He's brought contraception

Here’s the whole article. Interesting that it’s been pulled from Yahoo news after being up for two hours this morning.
I’m sure his clarification is plenty in the eyes of the same media who would hound any other candidate for months over the same.
The “Blunt” amendment?
Does this mean they’re finally going to legalize marijuana?

Good for him. I expect that was in fact a mistake. One thing that really concerns me about Romney is that he seems to put his foot in his mouth immediately after he has a big momentum building day. He got a win on Tuesday and then does something stupid within 24 hours. This general election will be ours with few unforced errors. Romney, makes a lot of them. Of course Newt and Rick do too.
Maybe his “Lee Press-On Hair” was attached a little too tightly that day...
I do not like Mittens on the sheet.
I think his brains are concrete.
I will not vote for him, hes left and right
Mainly because hes just not bright.
I will not vote for the vapid hack
I do not care if hes got a Cadillac.
No fan I am of that RINO pile
Hell change three times if you wait a while.
If I want someone without merit,
Ill simply vote for the Muslim ferret.
The man is a liar. How anyone can vote this enemy of Conservatism into the Party is stupefying.
Romney will never get my vote.
Santorum 2012
You forgot the rest...
Instead I plan to give a hoot
And cast my vote for “cheerful” Newt.
Folks, let me be “Blunt” - if we allow Romney to become the GOP nominee and IF, somehow, he gets elected, this is what we are going to get.
There isn’t a grain of salt’s worth of difference between Romney and Obama. A vote AGAINST one is a vote FOR the other.
If things continue as they are, our choice in November will be between Tweedle Dee and Tweedle Dum.
Take your pick which is which.
Of course, the difference is that Rick and Newt are dependable conservatives, real Americans and supporters of Western Civilization unlike money grubbing Mitt, the Obamunist in skimpy disguise.
