Ryan Seacrest's much-hyped big NBC announcement finally arrived on Wednesday morning, but those expecting a major changing of the guard in morning TV were disappointed.

Instead, Seacrest added yet another job to his stuffed resume, announcing that he's joining NBC's prime-time coverage of the Olympics in London this summer.

I was planning on watching zero Olympic coverage with NBCs middle finger to sports fan coverage, the greed of the IOC, and the Athens games helping to bankrupt that country so this just adds another reason.

Get a VPN/proxy account and watch the BBC’s coverage. No commercials, no incessant NBC jingoism and Devastating Personal Tragedy (TM) stories.

Record it on the DVR and skip tragic stories of one legged runners whose mothers suffer from lycanthropy, the commercials, the stupid events, overly long musical intros and especially Costas and Seacrest. I might be able to watch the whole two weeks of NBC's coverage in one long evening.

Didn’t they have an Olympics four years ago?

Ryan Seacrest. Another white guy, huh? I suppose he will be covering the iceskating.

In the interest of racial equality, the networks should go with the affirmative action plan and staff their commentator positions for the Olympics with only ‘blacks’.

This is Ryan Seacrest. I am sitting in the front row of the Sochi Iceberg Skating Palace. The crowd is surprisingly sparse and only a few lights are turned on. Maybe this is a special lead in for the Russian skating team in the 2012 Summer Olympics...

Wow, it’s a good thing I already ignore the summer games. Ryan’s not a bad guy or host, but including him really is admitting Olympic coverage is NOT about the sports.
