SAN DIEGO (CBS) A Twilight fan was struck by a car and killed while waiting in line to get into a Comic-Con session Tuesday.
San Diego Police Lt. Andrea Brown says 53-year-old woman had run onto Harbor Drive, saw a car, tried to stop, then either tripped or fell into the side of the vehicle, KNX 1070′s Tom Reopelle reports.
The woman died at a hospital.
The 67-year-old driver was not cited.
According to the San Diego Union Tribune, the woman was in a crosswalk and had run a red light when she tried to secure her place near the front of the line for a panel on The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn Part 2. She had been in line since Sunday for the panel, scheduled for Thursday
It is always nice to die for something totally trivial.
San Diego Police Lt. Andrea Brown says 53-year-old woman
53???? I am sorry about this tragedy but... 53????
25 years ago (30?) she would have had a wedding party for Luke and Laura...
What a pity, what a waste of time. But I did wait 3 hours for stand by tickets to see SMG as a guest on several different NYC based TV talk shows. And sat overnight outside 30 Rock in May 99 for standby tickets for SMG hosting SNL. Nope didn’t get in. But waiting days? That is too much.
The cause of the mad rush is unfortunate.
“...to see SMG as a guest”
Scotts Miracle-Gro?
So, now (as the guy said in "Dirty Harry") I got's to know.
What is SMG?
Luke and Laura - what a flash from the past.
I actually am embarrassed that I had friends who had a party that day, with cake and other food.
Never could figure the whole soap opera fascination.
(Ok, I watched Dark Shadows, there I said it)
SMG is a goddess.
Luke and Laura - I was in HS when L&L were at their prime, we all watched it. Yea, I am a guy, and yes it was pretty cool drama back then.
Mrs. Freddie Prinze, Jr.
Does FPJ think so? lol If I am right on who SMG is. :) If not, oops.
Sarah Michelle Gellar ... and now comes the standard “Who!?”
Team Edward meets Team Buick.
That was my reaction. I outgrew comic books at age 11 or thereabouts.
“SMG” most likely refers to Italy’s Stato Maggiore Generale (General Staff). They must have been making a public appearance.
I have a friend who will soon be 64 who went gaga over the Twilight saga. Bleh!
I just got back from spending a week on our boat and asked her for the Game of Throne series to take with me. I got there and opened up this huge black box and it was all of the stupid Twilight movies. We don’t get many channels there so I tried to watch one. Yuck! Turned it off. What a bunch of insipid crap. I can’t believe anyone over 14 would even watch it.
