That's one reason that the young professional athlete should be counseled to use a portion of the high early earnings as downpayment on a couple of well located apartment buildings. A management company runs them, and while they won't make you rich, they'll keep you comfortable for life. And if push come to shove (the trophy wife gets the house and most of the assets when you're caught messin' 'round with a female posse member) you'll always have a place to live!
