To perform at an Olympic level, there are many sports where the necessary training will get an athlete down to 5% bodyfat.

This has nothing to do with women trying to look masculine - it's about trying to beat every other woman you're competing against by excelling them in conditioning.

Are you saying that the Olympics should be men-only?

I just posted the story, and said I agree with the columnist. MOST (NOT all) of the female Olympic athletes look very masculine.

Not just breasts either, gestures, walk, grunts and shouts during competition, spitting, etc, etc. Lady-like female Olympians appear few and far between.

To me this is a sure indication that Western culture (and the Olympics are an epitome of Western culture) simply does not value femininity any more, at least in women...

Does that mean I think only men should compete? No.

Why are there mens + womens events? Why separate the sexes? Because there are no differences between the sexes (ahem) why do we tolerate this segregation?

Perhaps there should be only one set of events and if women can qualify then they qualify. To perpetuate this segregation is sexist. Cant have that!
