I skipped 95 and eventually upgraded to 98 toward the end of 1999. Since then I have acquired a couple of Win95 laptops that I use for simple data logging and the like.
Can I still laugh and mock the people that fell for Millennium, or has that reached it’s expiry date?
Followed soon after by hundreds and hundreds of AOL diskettes/CDs.
You and I have similar problems. My browser is Mozilla Firefox and I get frequent requests to upgrade my OS so Firefox can be upgraded. I intend to keep milking this old OS as long as possible. I have a very nice laptop and I believe that the OS is Windows 7. Don't like it and, as you say, it is better described as a "presentation" system.
I was testing Win95 in Texas at that time.
It seemed more like a real operating system....course it wasn't MVS or even VM/370.
