One fact that many people don’t know is that homeowner insurance policies will drop coverage if the renters/owners have a, as classifed by the insurance industry, a dangerous breed (include, pit bulls, rottweilers, chows, and a few others.)

In fact, when insurance companies send out their surveyors to check the general condition of properties, dangerous dog breed is one of the things they look for.

I know. I was notified by my insurance company a number of years ago that my renters had 60 days to remove their Rottweiler from the property or coverage would be dropped - which we all know the mortagage holder doesn’t much like that you have no fire/insurance policy on THEIR property.

So, want to get rid of a dangerous breed in your neighborhood, find out that property’s insurance company and make a call that they will be party to the lawsuit filed if that dog ever does any damage.
