Two great questions!
Thanks to SunkenCiv; I have a term now for my beliefs as to CREVO; Old-Earth Creationist. The earth is very old. Satan, upon banishment after the rebellion was sent here. The earth was destroyed by water at least twice. Many different life forms have existed here; they were all “created” by a Creator, but strong evidence exists to support natural selection has occurred and does occur. At the point of the Garden, a new dispensation was delineated, and “man” became a being with an eternal spirit, different from the beasts of the earth.
With regards to eligibility- I am convinced that something seriously fraudulent and disqualifying lies in the past of our current chief executive; that such a hoax was foisted upon us with nearly the whole country shining it on was a huge wake-up as to how far we have slipped while I was busy working and raising a family and expecting the US to stay solidly on track.
The rapid devolution from the good old days when patriot/adults watched over the globe in our interest has been the greatest shock in my lifetime.
I trust that Creation has been described faithfully by God-inspired scripture and that any apparent disagreements or contradictions will ultimately be resolved in a manner that does not contradict scripture. I’m at peace with that and am perfectly willing to be labelled a fool by those who do not beleive similarly, or those who look for escape clauses in scripture in an attempt at rationalizing current scientific belief into the Creation account.
But, there are weaknesses from a purely scientific, logical point of view, as far as evolution is concerned. Why, just the other day I saw a Poodle flopping around on proto-wings with a gleam in his eye, as if to say “you laugh at me now, but in a couple of hundred million years, these puppies are goinna be wings!”
Evo-dispensationalism is going to blow a few gaskets by the way, lol. Too bad you weren’t around at the time.
