This may sound crazy, but I had a problem with a tree rat in my attic chewing on wires and I found opening and sealed it-problem solved. Then a friend told me that placing Bounce Fabric Softener sheets in garage, attic and car engine compartment will keep them away for some reason. Then I saw evidence of a rat being in my garage and I put out about ten sheets of Bounce and a couple of days later I found a dead rat laying on one of those sheets. I put them around my garage every few months and have had no rats and the garage smells nice.
