Burger King will reportedly test its meat to make sure it is 100 percent beef after horse DNA was found in beef products from one of its food processors.

Burger King addressed this topic after it was disclosed that Silvercrest Foods sold beef products containing horse meat to other retailers. …

Except for false advertising, what’s the problem? A horse is nothing but a cute and slightly smarter form of cow and most of us have no problems eating cow. (ducking)

What? are they afraid the processor isn’t using enough horse in their burgers?

From the taste of that Fish Sandwich the other day, they might want to take a look at their seafood retailer, too

I’ll bet they plan on making sure that the meat is up to the highest standards. Then they will start a new marketing campaign - “You can’t beat our meat!”

Easier and cheaper test. Bite the hamburger. If it “neighs”, it is horse meat. If it “Moos” it is cow.

If it clucks, you got a chicken sandwich by mistake. Ask for a free hamburger.

Actually, bovines are smarter than horses. So are pigs. But the horse is cuter, no doubt, and the taboo on eating horse meat has nothing to do with food sanitation & everything to do with not eating My Little Pony.

Will they also DNA test to make sure they aren’t putting in rat droppings and bugs?

I would beg to differ. I spent many summers in my youth on the family dairy farm. We had both cows and horses and I have yet to meet a smart cow. However I have worked with many smart horses.

A cow eats, poops and farts and refuses to be trained to do anything except stall and accept milkers.

A horse, on the other hand, can be trained to do tricks and respond to verbal commands ... try that with a cow.

The fork as an eating utensil was invented by the Fijians, who greatly esteemed long pig, which was usually supplied in the form of slain enemy warriors.

Burger King says it will test specifically for equine DNA.

Anybody seen Angus lately? I miss that guy.

Hmmm.... OK, I don’t have much farm experience. I just read somewhere that oxen teams will not pull to exhaustion while horses will keep going until they drop dead (Gone With The Wind).

Anyway, there is a taboo on eating horsemeat here that doesn’t hold in Europe. If Burger King was provided horsemeat that passed inspection, what’s the big deal? Maybe Europeans have more famine experience. Wonder how horses fair in China?

“Burger King told Businessweek that it dropped dealings with Silvercrest after learning that meat supplied by the distribution company contained horse meat. Burger King went on to say that product from Silvercrest was never sold in their stores.”

This makes absolutely no sense.

If BK dropped dealings with Silvercrest, then BK must have been dealing with them. Then BK claims they never sold any products from Silvercrest. So what was BK dealing with them for?

Somebody is not telling the truth, me thinks.
