I like the show but I agree with you on the ridiculousness of low ammo and the scarcity of guns. Maybe if the story was taking place in England then maybe that story line would fly, but not in the US and definately not in the South.

When most of the population is zombies guns would be easy to find.

The trouble is getting out and finding it. People don’t have the luxury of window shopping. And after a year or two when people have raided all of the stores and not used their ammo wisely - it’s going to get harder and harder.

This is why I love this show because it is so 2nd Amendment for self defense. However the show does show what happens to abuse of power like the governor.

The zombies represents society when it falls and the rules of law are out.

Maybe I maybe wrong here but the Walking Dead, Sons of Anarchy, and even Revolution TV show is a metaphor of fighting back Tyranny from those that wish to oppress.

Also what is cool, looks like CROSSBOWS are making a comeback because not just Darryl (TWD) but folks in Revolution are using them.

I see it as an allegory about the collapse of the urban welfare state...

...and the official end of affirmative action.

I guess the question would be “what is the ratio of zombies to healthy humans?

One box of Walmart .22 is 500 rounds. Zombies seem to move slowly. With a .22 rifle and scope, you can easily make headshots at 50 yards, and .22 silencers are easy to make.

I would think a zombie hunting party could take down thousands relatively easily, and once you clear off a fair sized island, where are more zombies going to come from?

It also seems that there would be lots of boats available that you could live on safely.

I have never heard of zombies swimming.

I agree, it is a fantasy about warfare where the enemy is numerous but stupid and armed with primitive weapons. Kind of a gamer Valhalla.

...and the official end of affirmative action.

If that's what it takes, bring it on.
