Pretty damned cool song. The messag is a noble one. Unfortunately, there’s too much money to be made keeping the fires of race hate burning. I wish him well though.
Is it just me,? I don't recall all of this racial animus in America six years ago.
Brad Paisley- obumma lover
Paisley is from West Virginia. A Union state.
LL Cool J is from New York. Also a Union state.
The song sucks, incidentally.
It's not that good.
Maybe, but if you get enough people talking about you, you win.
Well bless your little heart, thanks for letting me know. If it’s okay with you I’ll continue to enjoy it.
Maybe you can nurse that confederate/union sh!t for another 150 years. Whatever you do, don’t let go of it.
...I’m not the one who wrote a song about the Confederate flag and race relations.
I’m just pointing out that neither Brad Paisely (whom, I’ll admit, I’ve never been a fan of) nor LL Cool J (not a BIG fan, but a fan) are the first two people I’d ask about the subject and they don’t have much of a pedigree as regards history or sociology.
Brad’s a liberal Obama lover. He also cries in public, a lot. Can’t stand men who do that.
So, one needs a degree in history or sociology to make a meaningful statement about race relations? No wonder the race hatred remains if we need college professors to solve the problem.
I thought it was a thoughtful commentary even if neither Paisley nor LL have any credentials in social sciences. They have life experiences which I value more highly.
No, you don’t NEED a degree to make a meaningful statement.
It’s just that “Accidental Racist” isn’t a meaningful statement. It’s just a pop song.
That isn’t very good.
You are entitled to your uninformed opinion.
This is REAL country music, first released in 1956, the year I turned 12, I was never that much of a country fan in those days but I remember being struck by this one, Ray Price is still one of my heroes, as far as I am concerned there is ZERO country music being written in America now.

Oh great, now the “racism” obsession which unites so beautifully in a Kumbaya embrace the Left and the Right has infected songwriting!
There maybe zero country music on the radio today, but you have to look elsewhere. It’s called ‘Americana’ now.
95.9 The Ranch FM out of Ft. Worth. Stream it. It's all I listen to anymore.
Thanks, will check it out.
A country music artist doing a pop culture pandering crossover with a polar opposite music genre with the goal of making money by selling the song.
Nothing surprising here.
What the world is really like when youre living in the hood
Just because my pants are saggin doesnt mean Im up to no good
You should try to get to know me, I really wish you would
Now my chains are gold, but Im still misunderstood
Heavy, dude. You-all do some real thinkin' up there in Connecticut.
Imagine progessing from Daniel Webster to you and "El El Cool Jay" in just a couple short centuries.
