My bull-mastiff “Fury” was visiting her mother at my brother's house where she was born.

My sister-in-law saw the mailman come up to the fence to deposit the mail in the box. He said “Oh, there are two of you. Well here is a treat for you - and a pet” to the mother “and here is a treat for you - and ... AHHHHH” as he pulled his arm back from Fury.

Fury was like “thanks for the treat, but don't go putting your arm in MY yard!”.

Another time a neighbor complained that Fury bit him. “She was out?”. “No. I reached into the fence to pet her.”

Yeah. Don't do that.

Fury would have eaten the pudding - then eaten a piece of burglar.

I have actually had to post signs explaining the concept of “fence” and “gate” to apparent morons.

Both of them serve a dual purpose; keeping my dogs *in* and safe and keeping interlopers *out* and safe.

There’s still a sign on the gate that says “PLEASE CLOSE THE GATE” because some people can’t seem to wrap their head around that.

“Dumb” dogs understand personal boundary lines but some folks can’t manage.

What a world.
