You know, a couple of days ago a friend and I were talking. There used to be a couple of cannons on almost every green in New England Ny and Penn IIRC. N

None anymore. What happened to them?

The cannons were so valuable that many cities sold them to collectors that paid a premium for them. I owned a bronze 1846 heavy 12 pounder at one time and they now sell for $100K+ now.That kind of money will keep a city’s largess paid for a short time.
