The real question is if it's going to explode at the time and place of their choosing or not... I think you are more right about the onion nature than you know; I would not be surprised to find that during the excitement Congress had quietly signed into law government control of (a) communication, (b) firearms, and/or (c) manufacturing/banking.

It's always good to be optimistic. Sooner or later, something might stick. It just has to be something simple enough for the American people to understand. "I hate the IRS", might do it, maybe.

Dream on. The public’s exposure to all of those things you mentioned is still minimal. Only hard core news and politics junkies know what is going on and BTW they already knew.In reality Gosnell is no big story to most LIV's and his conviction will not be widely reported if at all in many markets.
