That’s why a lot of people use them like watch dogs.
Damn things will sneak up on you like a Doberman too.
When I lived in New Mexico we had a donkey.
We had lots of trouble from packs of wild dogs getting at our chickens and goats. I once saw the donkey grab up a large Pitt Bull and slam it against the barn. The thing limped off squealing and bleeding. I doubt it lived very long.
It was rather gruesome.
The donkey was very gentle towards me....but I was wary of it at all times.
Virginia beef ranchers (?) use donkeys or llamas to protect the Black Angus.
