Might as well post this in smoky backroom. Perhaps the mods won't pull this thread.

It’s only the fifth report of the same result that you’ve posted for the previous week. No reason for the mods to pull it. /s/

So, if I understand this correctly, whatever is inside the cylinder produces 10,000 times as much energy as an equivalent amount of gasoline. But what the scientists don’t know is how much energy went into making whatever is actually inside the cylinder.

Perhaps this is a highly efficient energy storage device rather than an energy producing device.

Well, hopefully at some point we’ll see what’s going on here.

Just for perspective, nuclear fission reactions release about a million times as much energy per unit fuel mass as do chemical reaction. Fusion releases another three or four orders of magnitude on top of that.

But I’m not saying I’m not hopeful. Maybe there are losses (although if the output of this device is heat, I’m having trouble seeing where those losses go). Maybe the measurement of “missing mass” is off for some reason.

If Rossi and Focardi’s cold fusion technology turns out to be real — if the E-Cat really has 10,000 times the energy density and 1,000 times the power density of gasoline — then the world will change, very, very quickly.

Um, yeah. When real physics are involved, no one ever has to wait and see if something "turns out to be real." It's amazing how scams have to find their basis in laws of physics that supposedly haven't been discovered yet.

we should stress that they still don’t know exactly what’s going on inside the sealed steel cylinder reactor.

Sorry to hear you had a thread pulled. I am glad you keep posting info about the E-CAT because the technology needs to be explored.

Here is my only objection to the article:

“If Rossi and Focardi’s cold fusion technology turns out to be real — if the E-Cat really has 10,000 times the energy density and 1,000 times the power density of gasoline — then the world will change, very, very quickly. “

The world never changes quickly. Those whose immense wealth comes from keeping the common man tied to fossil fuels will not lightly give up their wealth.

The ultimate question is .... can it now or in the future be expected to do anything useful? A spinning top is a physics wonder of physical rules and theories in practice, but in the end is just a spinning top.

Is it possible they may be picking up heat/energy readings from the pants on fire?

And if it’s proven to be real, liberals will come up with some smoke and mirrors excuse as to why it’s going to kill us all.

See, when electric power was a new invention Edison set up a Power Generating Station in New York City. If this thing works why don't they set it up somewhere and generate some power to establish proof of concept?

If they can't do that then I say it is all a huge load of Bull Shit!

Well now that we have verification by seven top scientists the time for discussion is past, less successful companies with their business acumen will now fight for a chance to build Rossi’s device.

Why wouldn't the whole world beat a path to Italy? Rossi has a device that will produce many times the amount of energy input! A thimble sized pellet of cheap but secret ingredients will produce sustained temperatures of 1800 to 2000 degrees F.

The herd of government, military, industrial and academic leaders hailing Rossi should be going on right this moment since we now this world saving technology verified by no less than seven top scientists. I'm planning a thread when that happens.

In the late 1940s I was a student at UC Berkeley and taking a physical chemistry course. Those were the days that Cal was loaded with such people like Seaborg, Teller, Oppenheimer and connected to most other famous atomic scientists in other parts of the world. I remember very vividly that in the PChem textbook there was a chart/graph that laid out the atomic table as to theoretical(?) nuclear energies from hydrogen, extremely peaked, to uranium-plutonium, a somewhat lesser peak, to the lower wt elements at about the middle of the chart. I distinctly recall a class discussion about the chart with particular attention to the uranium-plutonium peak as illustrating the recently dropped bombs. I also remember some allusions to the higher hydrogen peak and what that could/would mean. However, what strikes me today in the discussion of ‘cold fusion’ is that the class also was wondering about the ‘inherent’ energy indicated for the middle elements of the chart which had energies many times less than the end elements. I tend to think that ‘cold fusion’ could be a reality if someone could get into the nucleus of these low energy elements.

The bottom line (for me, at least) is this: If this is true then Rossi would be rich enough to hire Bill Gates to shine his shoes.

So... what is he waiting for?
