Miller Barber, who made a record 1,297 combined starts in PGA TOUR and Champions Tour history and was a dominant player after turning 50, died Tuesday at the age of 82.

I knew who he was. I suppose this younger generation thinks he’s someone who runs a haircutting place that serves beer.

From my hometown of Sherman, Texas. Mr. Barber was a great man ... as is the rest of his family. RIP
I thought he was from Louisiana. I remember that slow, gentlemanly southern drawl. He played with and finished in front of some of the all time great golfers.
I lived in Sherman at one time. I think my dad invested in a sponsorship of Barber then.
RIP.
I’m not sure where he’s from originally, but he was in Sherman longer than I was.
