I always thought his role in The Shining was one of the scariest I ever saw. Still gives me chills.

What about whoring? Is he retiring from that, too?

Will he still go to parties hosted by Roman Polanski?

Me too. Watching his madness progress as he constantly chewed on aspirin was really weird.

I also loved him in “One Flew Over the Cuckoos Nest”.

The filmmakers probably didn’t intend it, but I found myself agreeing with Nicholson’s character at the end of A Few Good Men.

Funny that the authors of both of those novels disliked the film adaptations and were critical of Nicholson. I have to diagree with the authors.

Funny you say that. Meathead’s movie was about a weasel taking down a hero, and then asking us to applaud.

Idiotic.

Whatever his personal peccadilloes, he was/is a terrific actor. Loved him in one of his lesser-known but great roles in The Last Detail. One Flew Over The Cuckoo’s Nest also stands out.

Agree totally! That's my scariest movie ever. I found the complete isolation of the family in the dead of winter inside that huge vacant resort with no way out to have been completely frightening. Watched much of the movie through parted fingers.

Just watched it again last night. The only movie to give me nightmares as an adult.

THE LAST DETAIL was fantastic. I was in the Navy at the time. I also loved Clifton James: “Along comes Meadows and f**ks up charity.”
