I split my time between Florida and Colombia. Should the SHTF S Fl. would be the WORST place to be. Ive tried to convince my wife of the need to be prepared while in S Florida but her mindset is “this is America” and all is OK. But then she also knows and says so often “this isnt the same country as it was 30 yrs ago”.

I stock up as best I can but do you ever have enough?

South Florida would be fine if you were on a boat. Fishing. Lots of distance from objects and life forms.

With a solar fresh water distillation rig.

I used to live in Ft. Lauderdale for a while in the 80s. I agree, S. Florida would be hell on earth. From Tampa to the Keys, up to Miami and the Palm Beaches, South Florida is like an enormous atoll. All those millions of people are crammed into a narrow dry land edge a few miles wide, with nothing inland but swamps. 90% of their food comes from outside of South Florida, and their water system is a joke, that barely functions even with the grid humming along. Kill the grid in South Florida and it would look like the Apocalypse in two weeks. And pray that Turkey Point never melts down. The other power plants run mostly on oil or gas, which would also run out without regular deliveries by ship. If they run out of fuel and go dark, Turkey Point will be the only source of power. Better pray those engineers are mighty dedicated folks with lots of contingency plans.
