today’s docs are uninformed.

you always treat anyone on antibiotics with probiotics to replenish or at least try to stabilize levels of good gut bacteria that could be wiped out by the antibiotic.

they knew this back when penicillin was first introd and they prescribed probiotics along with it. it fell out of favor because docs believed it was unimportant and now they learn 70 years later what they forgot back then.

why it fell out of favor? probiotics aren’t exotic, expensive medicine that you can rack up huge bills to charge healthcare plans for.
