Many of the Gunnies when I went through Quantico in 68 were WWII and Korea vets..Most said they’d rather have invaded another Jap held island than gone through North Korea.

My battery gunny in ‘Nam made the Inchon landing AND the Chosin Reservoir. Didn't know that until our 3rd or 4th reunion ... and it was his wife who told me.
Only after boo-koo beers will he mention it, but never in any real detail. He gets the 1000 yard stare and just says it was hell like you wouldn't believe.
Lives in San Diego ... HATES the cold.
