A man killed in a car accident on US-223 in Whiteford Township has been linked to a homicide involving his girlfriend whose body was found in the couples home outside of Howell the same day.
The Monroe and Livingston County sheriffs offices have been working together on the case that developed Monday afternoon. According to Livingston authorities, the 51-year-old woman was found deceased due to blunt force trauma inside her home in Oceola Township.
During the same time frame, her live-in boyfriend, 49, was driving through Monroe County on US-223 east of Memorial Hwy. when his car swerved into the opposite lane of travel and collided head-on with a semi-truck. The boyfriend was ejected and died at scene of the crash. According to a Livingston County Sheriffs Office press release, the boyfriend fled the scene of the murder and intentionally crashed his vehicle head-on and killed himself.
The evidence points to this being a murder-suicide, the press release stated, adding that the investigation is at its preliminary stages. Monroe County Sheriffs Chief Deputy Heath Velliquette said his agency is looking into the possibility that the accident was intentional, but he said nothing has been determined.
He added that the victim in the car accident still has not been formally and officially identified. Chief Deputy Velliquette said the accident victim had family members in Ohio and apparently was passing through Monroe County when the crash occurred around 2:20 p.m.
Livingston County authorities said the womans body was discovered after her co-workers reported that she had not shown up for work. Deputies checked the couples home on Hill Top Lane around 2:30 p.m. and found the victim deceased inside. Her death was ruled a homicide. Neither of the names was released.

Yes, should have been in keyword.
If you want to commit suicide, please don’t involve innocent people.
I’ll take that under consideration. How about the “not so innocent cigarette companies”, or, the “not so innocent alcohol companies”.
Well...OK, i quit smoking in 1984...
