A soloist starts playing just a bass starts on a town plaza.
Much like many of the musicians who dot downtown pedestrian malls in American cities, there is a hat on the paving stones in front of him for donations.
But then comes a cello. And a bassoon.
The melody becomes apparent, Ode to Joy
Violins join in and the crowds cell phone cameras appear. Boys climb lampstands to see. A crowd of brass and woodwinds appear and percussion is rolled onto the plaza.
This flash mob reveals itself to be the Valles Symphony Orchestra and the Lieder, Amics de lOpera and Coral Belles Arts choirs.
The were put up to the performance by Banco Sabadell on the occasion of its 130th anniversary. Company officials said they wanted to find a way to pay homage to their city as part of their publicity campaign campaign Som Sabadell (We are Sabadell).

FUN! FUN! FUN!
Wow, I expected a flash mob ransacking an orchestra. But this happened in Spain, and it was actually a flash mob orchestra. Beautiful!
I’m not quite sure where the Hotel Cordial Mogan Playa is, but I’m guessing the Canary Islands from the closing credits.
Wow

I hate to say it but only in cities without the urban youth of the American variety can this kind of thing be appreciated; although it is sure to drive off urban youth that is if they can’t get away with stealing something or mugging someone cold.
thanks for the post.
One of my favorite melodies
I love it
Would that the urban centers in America were safe enough and welcoming to such a inspiring event.
That is so incredible-—thanks for sharing it.
A good dose of beauty is what we all need these days.

Wonderful!

Wow. That was fantastic. And I just spent two hours on youtube watching the various mob orchestras and the Random Acts of Culture. (shakes head) :-)
