I'm thinking that there's an awful lot of available space for more rats.
If a rumor got started that there's a news camera on board looking for officials and other spokespeople, a number of pols, poverty pimps, and community activists will flock to it, taking along quite a bit of journ-o-lists.

So the Canadians cut loose a derelict vessel rather than declare it under maritime law as a menace to navigation and then sink it?
If another ship collides with that abandoned derelict with loss of life, it will be lawsuit city for the Canadians.
