Cornyn: 2014 and beyond about ‘mitigating Obama policies’ (from yesterday's Cornyn-Rove rally)
Longview News Journal ^ | 2/17/14 | Glenn Evans

The senior senator from Texas predicted little movement in Congress for the rest of the year on immigration reform, or much of anything, during a campaign stop in Longview Sunday.

“I think this is going to be about mitigating the policies of the president,” Republican Sen. John Cornyn said, noting the GOP needs a net six-seat gain to win control of the Senate. “We’ll be in strategic position to mitigate some of the harm of some of those policies.” Cornyn brushed off a recent, milder push-back on Obamacare to “mend it, don’t end it.”

“You can’t actually update the policies and tune them to the needs of the country through that process,” he said. “But the biggest fight we’ve had is trying to live within our means, to quit spending more than we take in. And that’s been a big problem with president Obama.”

-snip-

Cornyn was joined at the fundraiser by Karl Rove, senior adviser to the super PAC, American Crossroads. The former chief of staff for President George W. Bush acknowledged the Republican Party’s challenge winning women voters and defended the GOP Texas track record with Latinos.

“Yeah. Every party has its own challenge, and we’ve always had a challenge with women,” he said, before noting successes in the Hispanic community by Bush and Texas Attorney General Greg Abbott, who now is running for governor. “So, if you’re a Republican candidate, you’re used to campaigning in the Latino community.”

Don’t you think “Let’s not remove this cancer, let’s just make it a little less painful” is the perfect campaign slogan for the GOPe?

These are Cornyn’s policies.
Cornyn and his vicious TEAM attacked the conservatives.

THESE ARE GOPe policies = Obama policies = DNC policies.

What happened to “repeal obamacare root and branch”? Was McConnell lying at CPAC last year when he said that was the plan?

“But the biggest fight we’ve had is trying to live within our means, to quit spending more than we take in. And that’s been a big problem with president Obama.”

How does he have the unmitigated gall to speak these words after his would-be sneaky voting. It really just shows how stupid and uninformed he, and most all of them, think we are. Sadly, it seems that for the most part, he's correct-but this time Senator Cruz made sure that his hypocrisy wouldn't go unnoticed.

“So, if you’re a Republican candidate, you’re used to campaigning in the Latino community.”

And the moronic Rove/Bush pushes to take the pander to Hispanics strategy national in 2006 and 2007 did more to divide and weaken the Republican party than anything else of the past 30 or more years.

It's unfortunate that we had all these pandering border state Republicans in national office because they tried to force the national party to follow the same pandering, vote buying strategy they had used in Texas and other border states.

Adn they're still doing it. That's all they know.

It is a perfect slogan for them.

The truth is, if the GOP was able to halt all left-wing socialist legislation from here on out, we’d still be in trouble. It has to be rolled back in order to save the country. Stopping it, much less mitigating it won’t save us.

“Mitigating” Obama programs is still “supporting” Obama programs

How about “ending” Obama Programs
