Has everyone seen the commercials to entice business to come to NY? They offer 10 years tax free. They wouldn’t have to do that if it were business-friendly in the first place.

We did and then we looked into it. If you read past the headline, the offer they present is as thin as vapor. It’s just a Cuomo re-election stunt.

Yeah, 10 years tax free, if you go for the scheme to “join” the institution/college THEY allow you to “work with”.

So did CA, but then they decided to take the taxes retroactively when that time period ceased. Once you have settled into a city and all the expense to set a business up, you’d not want to have to dismantle it 10 years later! Hopefully business people are smart enough to see through this ruse.

Good luck finding a 10 year lease to rent space for a business in NY. It's the 11th year that might put you out of business.

Yes, was just commenting last night, that the NY bastion of liberalism, seems to think they can/should attract more of the capitalist types by the tax-free bribes.

The 10-year tax free thing has so many * clauses that no company will ever qualify

And let's not forget: “these extreme conservatives who are right-to-life, pro-assault-weapon, anti-gay” have “no place in the state of New York, because that’s not who New Yorkers are.”

There are lots of rules and regulations regarding that 10 years tax free. One of them is if you sell by phone or internet that is not included in the tax free column. Everything you sell must be onsite.

That's NY State. I doubt NYCs "better" neighborhoods will be participating in that.

Then they knock your brains out in the 11th year when you are finally established and can’t leave easily.
