The bolding is mine, and the main reasons for posting this announcement.

Am guessing that there was enough griping re PM being mistakenly identified as FF that the devs got busy on it.

How would you compare Pale Moon to Opera?

Having spent years with FF and gotten vey used to it, the switch to PM was fast/easy/painless.

Have used Opera before, but it's been years ago.
Being semi-oldish I just wasn't in the mood to fart around with a (by now, surely) unfamiliar browser architecture .. plenty of other chores to sap my waning energy stores.

How would you compare Pale Moon to Opera?

Pale Moon is derived from Firefox. It looks & behaves like earlier versions for Firefox; circa version 24.

The last several versions of Opera are based on Chromium. It has serious lack of support for managing and importing bookmarks. The last decent and native version of Opera as 12.16 (14 months old), and the bookmark management is quirky in that one as well. If you want to use Opera, go to filehippo.com and download that older version.

Thanks for posting. I moved to PM after the FF debacle and have been very pleased with it.

I uninstalled Firefox a few weeks ago and now use Pale Moon, two days ago I downloaded the email client “eM” when I click on a link in an email it opens in Firefox and not Pale Moon I thought that strange.

I feel ya man tomcat).. Been on FF since it was BEFORE FF.. Bought Netscape .. darn, can’t even remember the year anymore :p Think it was 1986..

I tried Opera.. not bad, but I didn’t like the set-up.. must be my age and stubbornness talking :p ... actually, not that old, just started PCs young.

Pale Moon is working great for me (still lag sometimes (picked up from FF at FF24, I guess, honestly don’t remember).. 99% of add-ons are working fine for me.

Waiting for Linux version to update though. :/

I MUCH prefer Pale Moon to Opera! I do not like Opera at all.

Did you make sure you UNinstalled FF? (and what OS are you using?)?

If your use to using Firefox, you won’t even notice the difference, except it is much faster, easy to move all your bookmarks to Pale Moon.

Me neither.. I use Midori first, if I have a problem with Pale Moon.. then if Midori doesn’t work, I go to Opera. last resort :p Hate Opera almost as much as IE :/

I have a glitch of some sort with my PM. It seems like something intermittently runs every 20 or 30 seconds and completely slows it down.

BTW.. I have to use a NON-Mozilla based browser to edit my homepage :/ I think it may be one of the ad-block add-ons I have installed.. :(

Yes I did completely, now when I open an email link, it takes me to a Firefox page, but I can’t navigate to other firefox pages from there, just the page or pages associated with the link.

Again, what OS (Operating System) are you using?
If you are on Windows, can’t help much.. besides asking you to check your install/uninstall (think it’s under programs and files.... then open up Registry... not giving advice past there.. I don’t want to be blamed if it crashes your system :/ (but search for FireFox, and delete any and all)).. If you are on Linux, you need to uninstall, then purge.. Mac.. no idea :p
