will the touch screens eliminate jobs?

Will the customers just swipe their debit or credit card, and also punch in their order on a kiosk? Will this eliminate the need for counter help to take people’s orders?

To me, this is a downside of modern systems of using credit and debit cards, in that, there is a trail of everything you do in which money changes hands. We’re losing some privacy rights there.

Suppose the overseers of Obamacare see you are going to McDonald’s and eating junk food too often??? The implications of this are not good.

As of now, it’s fine that we have a choice of spending cash, or using debit/credit cards. To me, it’s a big step to get to where debit/credit cards are required, and cash not accepted.

. . . and for anonymity, people will start buying “cash cards”.

. . which will probably end up requiring ID and having a camera watch you. . .

About 20 years ago, I started hating carrying cash and coins around. So I used credit cards wherever and when I could.

This past year we have had two credit cards hacked, and two replaced due to Target’s problems and another national store. I never had a credit card hacked/#’s stolen until 5 years ago. I have been using credit cards since I was 21, and I’m in my mid 70’s now. So basically, I never had a problem until I turned 70 or 50 years of use. I have averaged being subjected to credit card fraud about once a year in the past 5 years, and we are very careful in our use of credit cards.

My wife has been mainly a cash person unless she buys something where the credit card has warranty protection or she could call the credit card people to cancel a payment if the product had problems. She is still there using cash.

I’m seriously thinking about buying a Visa card with a limit of a few hundred dollars and using it for my weekly purchases and recharging it when it gets down.

Your concerns re big brother monitoring us become more realistic for all of us each day. I hadn’t thought about Big Sis monitoring our restaurant charges for ordering what she calls bad food.
