I had a ‘68 Barracuda with those and large under dash vents. It also had a white interior and white terrycloth seat covers. On a hot day with those open, the side windows up and the rears down I never missed having AC out on the road. It wasnt even noisy.

Same here. My wife does not open her window in summer because she does not want to mess up her hair. Me, being a cheapskate, do not want to use the air conditioning.

When I open the window on my side, the wind does not come in. With a vent window, the breeze came into the car. Sometimes, I hang my arm outside the car and am able to get some breeze into the car. Kind of dangerous though because I am driving :-)

also known as a “butterfly window”. Or smokers window. I used it as the ashtray. Still have them on my ‘97 F250.

Our ‘66 Pontiac Bonneville had MONSTROUS floor vents which you pulled open with a mechanical wire pull cable. When those vents were open at 70 mph, the air just ROARED through the car. Which was a great thing because the beast didn’t have AC.
