My dad’s a Baptist minister. He didn’t allow the females in the house to wear jeans or any kind of pants, either.

My mom lived from 1904-2007. She never wore pants because she said her daddy did not like them. He died in 1926. Her sisters did but she was really close to her daddy and did what he said. I am just sorry that I never knew him. I grew up in the good ole days. We were not allowed to wear pants to school from 1-12 grades and even in college. We got to wear slacks one day in college becaused it snowed and was very cold. I got into a very interesting conversation with my high school senior year English teacher. She said dressy clothes should be worn to college games but I disagreed with her. I still think it was dumb but some need to wear more modest clothes today.

I grew up in a time when females had a drawer full of slips, stockings, girdles, short white gloves and closets full of dresses and hats. I still have lots of hats, but most of them tend to be cowboy hats to go with my non-designer jeans which are ironed with a sharp crease.

I hate the attire they are wearing now. Much of it is ill fitting, mismatched, unironed and there is far too much skin showing. There just doesn’t seem to be any sense of modesty, regardless of the age. Makes me sad.
