That would be a high honor in remembrance of a true patriotic woman. Lord knows we have wayyyyyyy too many rotgut, arrogant, lieberal beethchies nowadays. Dime a dozen on both sides of the genders.
How about Mary, for a woman who did actually definitely exist, and made a big flag for Ft. McHenry?
Of course, the flag design had already been invented, but still, she really did do it.
My aunt married a man with the last name Ross and thought about naming her daughter “Betsy” but was afraid she’d be teased. Elizabeth is still a popular name; I guess the nickname Betsy has just fallen out of popularity. Maybe it’s because of a doll that was popular years ago, “Betsy Wetsy.” :-)
