Windows 8 is garbage. XP was light years better....

No surprise that almost as many folks are using pre-XP flavors as are using Vista. Vista was always seen as garbage with most sales coming from factory installs.
I haven’t tried 8.1, but limited experience with 8 showed that it must have been developed by the Vista team. I’ll stick with 7 at this point until something better comes along.

I got a new computer with Windows 7. I’m trying to get XP Mode to work so I can run some of my older programs.

Windows 8 had been forced on people when they bought new computers.
Not to long ago there was a rampant rumor that more than 75% of the world’s ATMs had XP technology driving the cash dispenser.
Anyone know if that is a truism?!?
I have zero problem with Windows 8.1.

Anyone got an old copy of XP with the key? I need to build a new PC and got an 8.0 disc but it’s an upgrade disc. I need to put something on the hard drive so W8 sees a previous installation.
