Garth Brooks cancels Thanksgiving appearance on ‘Tonight Show’ after Ferguson decision

The singer wrote on his Facebook page that he landed in New York on the night the grand jury’s decision was announced 'to the news of the civil unrest that was going on in our nation.'

Singer Garth Brooks has canceled a Thanksgiving appearance on NBC’s “Tonight” show because he said it “seemed distasteful” given the reaction to the decision not to prosecute Ferguson, Missouri, police officer Darren Wilson for the shooting of Michael Brown this summer.

NBC on Wednesday confirmed the postponement, saying Brooks was being replaced on the show by Whoopi Goldberg and Tom Colicchio.

Brooks wrote on his Facebook page that he landed in New York on the night the grand jury’s decision was announced “to the news of the civil unrest that was going on in our nation. To spend the day promoting our stuff like nothing was wrong seemed distasteful to me.”

Garth Brooks has always been full of himself.
He sold a lot of records then he went crazy. This is his come back tour.

The gayest thing a country singer has done since Ty Herndon admitted he likes having sex with men.

One of his songs describes Obama’s America...”if tomorrow never comes”.

Well we saw how well that worked out for the Chix. Now reduced to playing county fairs in Canada and bars in Europe.

That song is probably why he said in light of what was going on he did not think it good to appear, it may have been a show about that. Rescheduling makes sense in light of that song.

About a year ago I checked to see the Dixie Chick tour schedule. There was NOTHING! I suppose they may get together occasionally to do a fair or some such gathering.

"never like the guy"

Don Imus, who is a huge country fan, called Brooks the anti-Hank Williams. To Imus, Brooks epitomized everything that was wrong with modern country music.

Oh yeah- another rick kid with daddy’s oil money before he became a “star”. He thinks his audience is the lefty Occupy people? distasteful? more like he realizes how irrelevant his dumbass songs are today. married to trisha yearwood— a screecher. What a tacky thing for him to do- trying a comeback. wouldnt bother buffet— he’s buddies with charlie polesmoking Crist. Something wrong with Brooks- started long ago. with his Prince like character switch— that failed.
