Garth Brooks cancels Thanksgiving appearance on ‘Tonight Show’ after Ferguson decision

The singer wrote on his Facebook page that he landed in New York on the night the grand jury’s decision was announced 'to the news of the civil unrest that was going on in our nation.'

Singer Garth Brooks has canceled a Thanksgiving appearance on NBC’s “Tonight” show because he said it “seemed distasteful” given the reaction to the decision not to prosecute Ferguson, Missouri, police officer Darren Wilson for the shooting of Michael Brown this summer.

NBC on Wednesday confirmed the postponement, saying Brooks was being replaced on the show by Whoopi Goldberg and Tom Colicchio.

Brooks wrote on his Facebook page that he landed in New York on the night the grand jury’s decision was announced “to the news of the civil unrest that was going on in our nation. To spend the day promoting our stuff like nothing was wrong seemed distasteful to me.”

He dated the daughter of old family friends. They did NOT like the guy and were relieved when they broke up.

And he’s still wears his “N@gger-Hatin’ Hat” as Howard Stern used to call it.

Not a terribly smart move if you ask me. It might mean something if he were still considered a big superstar but those days are 20 years in the past.

I think it's endemic to the entertainment biz. They're gypsies who might occasionally hit the Lotto of stardom, but many toil in obscurity and poverty without ever making it big. Most who do shine sink back into obscurity after a few hits. The difficulty is having to start from scratch after the bright lights and seemingly easy money. I'd say the constant instability and insecurity are prime reasons why showbiz figures will always mostly be welfare statists.

There is seriously nothing that rankles me more than a supposed country boy that subscribes to leftist ideology. although I think the country part is likely just mall-bought.

It reminds me of that Rich Hall guy that $hits all over Texas on the BBC just to win favor with eurotrash.

If you read the article it says that he cancelled due to the unrest going on in the country. He did not specifically say it was because of the Grand Jury decision.

Anyone with a brain can read between the lines.

So Mr. Brooks has read the grand jury documents and looked over all the evidence?

No? Well then ... he can just get off his high horse and take a flyin’ leap.
