Great story, great dog... but I don’t think the dog really knew it was jumping in front of bullets and shielding the family with its body.

Yeah, I often wonder about the almost mythological powers people give to dogs in these news reports.

I would agree, especially if he was crammed into a car with them at the time.

My husband told me about this so I posted, but he seemed to think the dog jumped out of the car and took bullets. Even that would be questionable about intentions, but I think moreso if trying to move inside a car.

Anyway, I thought it was a sad story, as well as an agitating story. I hate that SOB for shooting up children, needs to be caught and strung up! Hope it gets more attention so the shooter might indeed get his due.

Of course the dog didn’t think he was going to take a bullet for the family. What the dog did was take the lead out front thinking, to get to them you must go through me! Catching bullets was just inadvertent.

The German Shepherd Dog is one of the most noble animals on the face of the earth. They have no equal in the dog world. Just the best dog breed on the planet and 2nd place isn’t even close.
