So, telling someone the truth, that their cable company is going to drop a channel they currently have but could lose is alarmism?

Telling the truth is a scare tactic?

What planet is this again?

Around here, KTVT and KTXA had the same beef with Time Warner a few months ago. The deal fell through, and the stations went off the air for about a month.

As I recall, Time Warner switched to feeds of The Hallmark Channel and one of the Starz channels while the negotiations dragged on.

As I do not have a digital TV, I don’t even know WHAT channels are included in the rental contract. (No, it’s not free; the TV service is rolled into the monthly rent; if I wanted to upgrade, Time Warner simply bills me the difference.)

This happens every year with Dish.

Programs all start the “OMG we’re gonna vanish!” hysteria, begging you to call Dish.

The real truth is that they are simply in their yearly price negotiations and when one or the other caves, the show will come back.

I dropped Dish several years ago.

Go tired of the drama.

So far, DirecTV has not pulled this predictable sturm and drang.
