Typical. Instead of dealing with the problem directly let’s pass more laws that are intrusive, unconstitutional and impact the innocent more than offenders.

Like gun control. Like making being carded in order to buy spray paint.

Don’t want graffiti? 15 strokes with a cane for the first offense. Cut off a hand the second offense. Problem solved with out nanny laws and nanny taxes and stupid pols thinking they have done something useful.

Officer Friendly sez: I am the police, and I'm here to arrest you. You've broken the law. I did not write the law. I may even disagree with the law but I will enforce it. No matter how you plead, cajole, beg or attempt to stir my sympathies, nothing you do will stop me from placing you in a steel cage with gray bars. If you run away I will chase you......

Sorry, peasant - hoodies are agin The Law.

Now, if you were Jon Corzine stealing a billion or two, or using an official government vehicle with an official government driver to go 30 mph above the speed limit, well - THAT'S a different story...

BE Jon Corzine, peasant. :)

I bought spray paint for two giggling teen girls once, in a Walmart line. They were dressed neatly, told me what they wanted it for, but were not allowed to buy it by Walmart. It was early May in GA, they were making a sign for graduation, which is in late May here.
I said I’ll buy it. The clerk was offended that I would do this, obviously every teen was a criminal just waiting to happen but I told her I was an adult and I wanted to buy it and if she had a problem, to call the manager. She reluctantly sold it to me and I handed it over to them outside the store.
