Really???

I see Microsoft abandon ship on Windows 8 and playing catch up with Apple and Google.

They are promising the moon to their customers, and like used car dealer even changed the name from Windows 9 in order to sell it by calling it Windows 10.

I think Microsoft is in big trouble and they know it.

The good news is that I believe Windows 10 will be good since Microsoft is following Apple, Google and Amazon's lead of letting developers make it.

FWIW, I heard (and find it believable) that the main reason for skipping Windows 9 is that any software attempting to identify the OS that searched for "Windows 9" followed by a wildcard (i.e. "Windows 9*") would get false positive hits for "Windows 95" and "Windows 98".

It was easier to skip to 10 than it would have been to have every developer potentially have to work around that issue.

The potential perceived marketing benefits were just gravy.

I think I don't care what Apple does and would rather not have it cluttering up reading about something I do care about.
