I will be sticking to Windows 7 until the kinks get worked out and Windows 10 has wide acceptance. Microsoft unfortunately has a bad history of introducing the latest greatest variation of Windows that turned out to be duds. Remember Windows ME, Windows Vista and now Windows 8?

I'l never forget, Windows ME.
I went out and bought it and had it installed.
It was like paying to have a virus installed in your computer.-Tom

When Vista was properly updated with service updates it turned into a fine system, still have one running here, it never causes a problem. I use 7 for most of my computers, I have several at home and at work. I have 8.1 on a notebook. It has simply never caused a problem, I use a start button add on but other than that it is solid.

The Best Buy in my neighborhood is no longer selling any computers that can support Windows 7, so you can’t buy one of their computers and have Windows 7 installed.

I’m in no rush to dump Windows 7 either. Mr. GG2 has Windows 8.1 and it stinks.

I’m with you; I’m sticking with 7 until 10 gets its sea legs under it full measure.

You left out Win 2000 from the list, all OS that I managed to avoid. Did have a work computer with 2000 on it for a spell and the thing attracted viruses like mad. A new experience for me at the time.

As a MCP, I can tell you that this update is almost completely aesthetic. They’ve made some code tweaks for future tech stuff (i.e. cloud), but this upgrade will turn out to be much ado about nothing.

As a Win8.1 power user, I will tell you that I’m not happy with 10. I’ve grown to like the Metro/Modern interface, and some of the changes in 10 capitulated to the complainers too much, IMO.
