The last time I went in I had my purchase ready, the girl at the counter insisted on using a handheld device to scan my card and when it wouldn’t work I told her to use the register please, but someone else had taken it. I told her to enjoy restocking my items and to enjoy the fact that I would never buy from Penney’s again.
Sounds familiar. If I really told you what the problem was there, I would no longer be allowed to post. Too many “Low Information” checkout people to put it in the vernacular. ‘Nuff said.

And, you know, the only mention the clerk ever made of that was in the employee break room while eating dinner with other employees. Management never found out there was a dissatisfied customer or an issue with the scanner. Unfortunately, your experience was a minor blip in the clerk’s evening...not a telltale sign of impending doom.
