my wife tried this one year with my college buds when we first married in ‘86. I pulled her aside and informed her that if she continued, the behavior was a two edged sword that I was ready to use. She stopped right then and hasn’t done it since. I’m quick to point out when commercials do the same.
I’ve always found it amusing when they talk about husbands committing “verbal abuse” as a type of domestic violence.
My observation and to some extent experience is that far more women commit verbal abuse than men.
Probably because physical abuse usually turns out so poorly.
