—Climatologist Dr. Pat Michaels debunks 2014 ‘hottest year’ claim: ‘Is 58.46° then distinguishable from 58.45°? In a word, ‘NO.’—

Hotter by one one/hundreths of a degree! 0.01 degrees hotter is not even out of the error bar.

With the exception of the infamous polar vortex which is blamed for slowing down our economy . . .

lets just assume they are correct and the earth is getting hotter.

well.. guess what? mars is getting hotter too!

http://www.nature.com/news/2007/070402/full/news070402-5.html

And I don't see any men or SUV’s or oil pipeline there!

The fact is, we live in a dynamic ever changing solar system where even the smallest changes in that giant fire in the sky we call the sun affect not just us, but every other planet in the solar system.

To deny this obvious fact is pure insanity. It's pure human arrogance to assume WE the nothings sitting on speck of nothing could affect anything and deny the power of the massive colossal force we call the sun that is really in control.

Also, changes in the planets affect the orbits along with the changing Sun. I think most people understand this to some level, but these people need to make a living. They really need to learn a trade because no one really is buying their BS anymore!

So we have a 0.01 degree difference, with 0.1 degree measurement error (this is just precision of thermometer, not counting other sources of error, such as urban heating), and they are claiming that this is significant. And they call themselves scientists?

Yes you can. Even though Lake Superior icebergs didn’t totally melt until it was almost June 2014. And, there was more ice accumulation at the poles in years, in 2014.

After looking at their “report” I’d say that those “experts” were the ones at the bottom of their frosh physics classes....the ones that just couldn’t get past the basics on measurements, error bars, and simple stats.

Oh yea, when we taught folks like this, we called them future journalists and politicians.

I think what is happening here is a result of a loss of faith in God.

I think as people stop believing in God (any God) then that leaves them to the inevitable conclusion that... if there is no God... then everything the world, our existence, is all one big cosmic accident that could and most likely will spin out of control at any moment. If no God is in control... the slightest change in the sun could melt or completely ice over our planet.

That's some scary stuff to contemplate... so I think it makes the nonbelievers feel better to think WE are changing the climate and that WE can do something about it. Then WE have the power and are not at the mercy of cosmic whims.

One of the mildest summers on record here in NE Texas.

No where near the record for things like:

According to CustomWeather via Platts, the 2014-2015 heating season in the US is clearly cooler than normal so far everywhere but the West Coast. On the East Coast the indicator so far is 2,107 vs “normal” of 2,076. For the Great Lakes, 2,800 vs 2,664. For the Midwest, 2,888 vs 2,790. For the Southeast 1,425 vs 1,310. The West Coast (Portland and SF) is apparently warmer at 1,124 vs 1,503. But the simple average is dead “normal” at 2,069. Platts’ heating oil demand indicator is 2,198 vs a normal 2,155.

Yes..there is that, but speaking of spinning out of control...I actually got into an argument with one of my teachers and another student about the Earth spinning off its axis and flying out into space or some such idiocy. I simply told them it will only happen if the Sun explodes, hence loses its mass. They dismissed me like I was the idiot...so there’s that too!

Experts from two federally funded government agencies that stand to reap HUGE buckets of money to perpetuate the myth and increase government control over everything. Yeah, I can believe them.

And what are you going to do about it, you “experts”? Apply for more government grants and fine those who want to burn wood to stay warm, as happened in Washington state?

No matter hold cold it feels it is actually very very warm.

BTW I think many more people would survive global warming than global cooling.

I can not see the point of worrying about something that we can do nothing about.

But I guess they can do something about it because it is about money and regulation.
